What is good mountain bike for medium strain trail riding?

I want to start to get into mountain biking and i was wounder what would be a good reasonably priced mountain bike that would be good for me. I am 5′ 10″ and 137 pounds. I would like it to have dual suspension and disc brakes.

You want to visit the local bike shops and see what they have. You may change your mind after you see the prices. Good full suspension bikes are expensive. The ones you see at department stores are junk and soak up pedaling energy like a sponge.
